Friends of Kings Park Stirling

We are a small charity that aims to promote and improve Stirling's Kings Park. We work with the local community to promote the use of the park and to improve its facilities. We meet regularly in the park to undertake various projects that we hope make the park an even better place to visit. We are always looking for new members so please read on and, if you wish, get involved!

Parterres Project Update
For the last 2 years, the Friends group has been looking after the four parterre borders around the old fountain near the main gate to the park. A big thank you to Jane, whose enthusiasm and knowledge has been pivotal in revitalisng the area. And to our dedicated volunteers who are helping grow new residents for the parterres at home. Some with more gardening experience than others.

The plants are grouped in 4 themes. We’ve put up some handy posters to note what's growing in each parterre, so have a look next time you're passing by:
🥒Vertical Edible
🌺Fusion
🌾Grass and Grains
💟White Garden

You will usually see Jane, and other volunteers working away on a Thursday morning. Feel free to stop for a chat anytime.

Tom Wilson Memorial Tree

A Sargent's Cherry Blossom Flowering tree was planted in memory of Tom Wilson last week with the assistance of the Stirling Council Land Services team. Tom was a founding member of the Friends of Kings Park, who passed away last year.

The ceremony was attended by Dorothy, Tom's widow who donated the tree, and members of the Friends Group.
